Canada will reopen the Parents and Grandparents Program on 28th January

Good news for Canadian residents planning to call in their parents and grandparents to Canada this year, as IRCC will start a first-in, first-served approach to process the EOI’s of candidates under the Parents and Grandparents program. Residents over the age of 18 will now be able to sponsor their parents and grandparents for PR status as The IRCC has now set a new target of 20,000 new residents under The PGP this year.

To start with the process, residents will first fill out an online form to Sponsor which will come out on 28th January. Till the time the 20,000 applicants mark is met, application forms will be received by Canadian Immigration and The Invitation to apply will be given out to candidates on the first-come, first-served method.

IRCC has mentioned that sponsors must review all the requirements and the required funds and they will be notified after the submission of online forms. Candidates applying will have 60 days to submit their completed forms with all the documents and requirements.
