Saskatchewan Revises In-Demand Occupation List For Candidates With Specific Work Experience

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has set new records on April 17 2019. It is the first ever expression of interest draw for immigration candidates with work experience in specific in-demand occupation.

Three to four targeted occupations were recently added to Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupation list being updated on April 4 2019 by Saskatchewan Nominee Program (SINP).

Work experience in the specific occupation on the mentioned list is mandatory for both the SINP () Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand Sub Categories.

Moreover, a job offer is not essential for either sub category.

As a part of your knowledge, SINP is a constituent of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program, which allows the participating provinces and territories to provide a particular number of economic imigration candidates for Canadian permanent residency every year.

4 Occupations Targeted in EOI Draw

A total of 324 invitations were allocated for Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates with validated work experience in the below-mentioned fields. The NOC mentioned in the below table refer to the profession’s code under Canada’s National Occupational Classification.

2154Land Surveyors
2255Technical Occupations in Geomatics and Meteorology*
6342Tailors, Dressmakers, Furriers and Milliners*
7332Appliance Servicers and Repairers*

SINP has mentioned earlier this week, it may make “Occupation Specific Selection” shifting from its expression Of Interest (EOI) System that manages the pool of candidates for Express entry and Occupation categories.

Candidates obtaining a provincial nomination through SINP’s express entry subcategory are rewarded with an additional 600 points towards their ranking score, assuring an invitation to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency.

In order to be qualified for Express entry, Candidates by Saskatchewan must enroll a separate expression of interest with SINP.

The cut-off score on April 17 was 60 for both the express entry and occupation in-demand subcategories. This was the lowest score recorded for occupation in-demand candidates since the EOI establishment in July 2018.

Saskatchewan announced that In-Demand occupation list is typically updated once in a year but simultaneously can change at any instant of time depending upon the number of invitation offered by the labor market.

The latest revised list contains 20 occupations inculcating computer programmers and interactive media developers.

All these prove to be a good reminder as to why stay updated with changes of provincial nominee program.
