The Prince Edward Islands holds first draw of 2019

The Prince Edward Islands holds the first draw of 2019 for Express Entry, Labour and Business candidates with 60 Express Entry and Labour Impact invitations issued in January 17 draw. Holding its first draw of the New Year, the province invited 91 candidates to immigrate through Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact categories.

The PEI PNP program allows the island province to nominate a set number of economic immigration candidates each year for permanent residence and also a total of 91 invitations were issued in January 17 draw which included 61 entries through the PEI PNP’s Express Entry and Labour Impact categories.

Applicants with a profile in the Express Entry pool who are interested in working and living in the province are required to register an EOI with the PNP program of the province, as the EOI is like a deceleration of a candidate. The province’s immigration also encourages candidates in the Express Entry pool who do not have a job offer in the province. EOI profiles are awarded points based on education, work experience and English language skills. The candidates are selected to apply on the basis of monthly draws from the pool.

Similar to other provinces Express Entry candidates are awarded an additional 600 points in their overall score to apply for permanent residency. The three EOI based streams are Skilled Workers, International Graduates and Critical Workers.

The Work Permit stream also operates on an EOI basis and the lowest-ranked candidate in the January 17 draw had a score of 120 who were selected to apply.
